john barleycorn

Cast it away. It is chaff.
Become the kernel, burst the walls.
Shudder, rupture, tear through,
undo the weight above you.

Spread wide green wings,
drink the light. Hold firm,
grow still chthonic deep.
Seek sweet moisture,
fled down and away.

Draw it up unto the day.
Unfix the air.

Bring sugar from sunlight.
